The brief

SkillNest is a learning-platform design focused on practical skills, learning pathways and progress visibility. The central design question is how to help a learner choose a useful starting point and understand what comes next, rather than simply presenting a long list of courses.

Design direction

The learning journey is organized around orientation and continuity: understand the pathway, choose the next step and see progress. Clear labels and a consistent content hierarchy are intended to make the experience approachable for learners with different levels of familiarity.

Explain the learning pathway

A pathway should connect individual lessons to a larger skill. Descriptive labels help learners understand the sequence and judge where their existing knowledge fits.

Make progress understandable

Progress visibility helps a returning learner reorient themselves. The design focus is on distinguishing completed work from the next useful action without making the interface feel like an administrative dashboard.

Define the learning system before development

For a production LMS, course authoring, learner accounts, assessments and completion rules must be scoped explicitly. These requirements determine the application architecture and how progress is stored.
